10 minutes

  1. Students watch Miles

  2. Discuss the video with students:

    • Why did Beau start his movement?

    • Who does Beau’s movement target?

    • How could you apply Beau’s ideas in your life?

Activity 2

Action brain dump

  1. Students brainstorm ideas for their own movement that will benefit the wellbeing of their community. Encourage students to think about causes that interest them (e.g. equality, discrimination, mental health).

  2. After two minutes, students work in groups to put their ideas into three categories:

    • worthwhile

    • ponder

    • not worthwhile.

  3. Students assess each idea based on the resources available to them and the idea’s feasibility. Provide a simple rubric for assessing feasibility (e.g. time required, cost, skills needed, potential impact).

  4. Groups present their top ‘Worthwhile’ idea to the class.
